Sharing the Joy of Knowing Christ
Our Pastor
Pastor AlanHello!
My goal is simply to be the pastor God wants me to be. That means being unhypocritical, honest, loving and grounded in the Bible, the Word of God.
My ability to shepherd this flock comes from the Spirit who dwells within me and empowers me and from the Word of God. I seek to be a pastor who can be known, even by children. When I was a child, I was always afraid of pastors, and I definitely do not want to be feared by children (or anyone else.)
My philosophy of preaching is simple. I believe the answers we need are in the Bible. I tend to preach through Bible books in the "verse-by-verse" method. The more we know the Bible, the better off we will be. I think every Christian should have an in-depth knowledge of the Bible.
But I do not want the Bible knowledge to be theoretical, I want it to be practical and encouraging. It also must be honest. If I am preaching a principle that I struggle to live out in my life, I will let you know. I figure the best sermon is one that is Bible-based and gives you something to think, something to feel, and something to do.
I believe in the church of Jesus Christ. I believe that the church is the best hope for helping damaged people and damaged families. There is hope for hurting people when the members of the church are genuinely spiritual people who live out the Word of God through the power of the Spirit.
We would love to see you either Sunday morning, Sunday evening, or Wednesday evening. Thank you.
